Urinary Bladder Stones

  • What are Bladder Stones?

Bladder stones develop when concentrated urine is left in the bladder, allowing minerals to crystallize into hard masses. This usually happens if you cannot empty your bladder completely (often due to an enlarged prostate) or if you are chronically dehydrated.

  • Primary Symptoms:
  • Severe lower abdominal pain
  • Painful, burning urination (dysuria)
  • Blood in the urine (dark or cloudy appearance)
  • Difficulty urinating or an interrupted urine stream
  • Frequent urinary tract infections
